Shinai (for beginners)
Sword and Board
Wasters/Longsword
We have loaner gear🤺
We usually meet on the North end of the park, under the lights.
There is no fee to attend this event.
Non-member guests are encouraged.
🛡️ Who are we?
Esperance of Adria is a chapter of the Adrian Empire which is a Non-Profit Educational Medieval Recreation Organization.
Our members study and re-create the arts, skills, and culture in the medieval and renaissance between 793 and 1625.
We conduct regular monthly events with archery, arts, and combat tournaments as well as several camping events each year. We also setup demonstrations at schools, malls, markets, and myriad other events. Members can earn points to obtain knighthoods within the organization in various disciplines.
This unofficial weekly event is our opportunity to practice technique and get some passes in between tournaments.
As an educational organization, we thrive on welcoming and teaching newcomers. Come join us!
Fighter Practice Basics (What to Bring):
• Water
• Closed-toe shoes
• Long pants
• Thicker sweatshirt
• Layered clothing for padding
• Gloves (the heavier the better — leather work gloves or motorcycle gloves work well)
• Elbow and knee pads
• Athletic cup
• Any sport protection gear you may already have
